Some firmwares allow the PSP to charge from a USB connection to a PC.
the point of a charger is to charge the product
You have to have a charger, nothing else will charge them.

Hello! I just bought a Sony PSP at a yard sale and it came with the wrong charger. Is there another way I can charge it, like possibly through the USB port? Thanks for the answers! :)

There is no only one way to charge it and that is with a battery charger. A 15 amp battery charger will charge it about as fast as it needs to be charged.

There is no safe way to charge a phone without a charger made specifically for that phone/battery
Either the battery is not retaining its charge - OR - the charger isn't charging the battery. Either way try using another battery - or charger.
il say this once and take caution when i say this...GET A NEW PSP!!!it is very dangerous because if the energy flows the wrong way it will open up a spark causing a fire..if i was u i would buy a full new psp all together
do you mean caging by putting it in a smart fit psp case or another way>>if its another way it could get damaged
No
if it wont charge, it could be the charger itself or the port on the laptop. Verify that the charge works on another computer if you can. If not, i would start with the charger as it can be cheaper then a new motherboard or a new laptop. But try to find a way to test it first.
I just thought this answer was so terrible i had to edit it. "you can charge it by the wifi connection you use to by songs or you can" YOU CAN NOT, repeat NOT charge an ipod touch over wifi, it simply is not possible. This bits alright though. Be nice if he could spell 'go' right though. just goo to a apple store and bye another charger whatever you would like to do, it's fine either way.
