What is a good moveset for gastly?

Here are two different movesets:

This first set is good as Gastly can target more types of Pokémon, namely Psychic, Ghost, Grass, Water, Rock, Poison, Fighting, Bug(Gen 1), and Fairy(Gen 6). It also includes moves that are the same type as Gastly itself, which causes full damage. The moves are 100% accurate, and all have a chance of inflicting additional side effect damage.

1. Shadow Ball (Ghost, 80P, 20% chance of lowering SP Defense)
2. Sludge Bomb (Poison, 90P, 30% chance of poisoning)
3. Psychic (Psychic, 90P, 10% chance of lowering SP Defense )
4. Energy Ball (Grass, 80P, 10% chance of lowering SP Defense)

This second set of moves is rather limited as you can really only target Psychic, Ghost, Poison and Fighting type Pokémon. It becomes more useful if you can get your opponent Pokémon into sleep, which you can then steal ½ their HP when you use Dream Eater.

1. Shadow Ball (Ghost, 80P, 20% chance of lowering SP Defense)
2. Psychic (Psychic, 90P, 10% chance of lowering SP Defense )
3. Hypnosis (Psychic, 60% chance of causing opposing Pokémon to fall asleep)
4. Dream Eater (Psychic, 100P, effective only if target is asleep)

These movesets are applicable to Gastly, Haunter and Gengar.
