Thousand-Eyes Restrict can, like the ritual card "Relinquished", equip the opponent's monster cards to itself and gain their ATK and DEF. But unlike Relinquished, Thousand-Eyes Restrict has the ability to prevent any other monster card from attacking or changing battle position (excluding itself). In spite of this, Thousand-Eyes Restrict can only be destroyed by the effect of a spell or trap card, or monster effect like that of Exiled Force. This normally makes it incredibly difficult to be beaten and thus it was banned. (Monster Card + Black Illusion Ritual = Relinquished Relinquished + Thousand-Eyes Idol + Polymerization = Thousand-Eyes Restrict) One other reason for it being banned was how easily it could be summoned via Metamorphosis and a sheep token from Scapegoat.
