As far as I can tell, nothing. I know the one up Mount Coronet shatters after you have freed Azelf, Uxie and Mesprit, but...who knows?
I also know what the painting signifies. The three markings forming the triangle represent Azelf, Uxie and Mesprit. The glowing sphere in the centre represents Dialga, Palkia or Giratina (depending on whether you're playing Diamond, Pearl or Platinum).
