coal is used to make steel, you need 2 coal and 1 iron ore to make a steel bar. Iron bars are made with just 1 iron you have a 50% chance of it being urned into a bar or being destroyed

The process does not use raw coal, but coal distilled to leave as far as possible, just its carbon, as a material called "coke". Iron-ore is iron-oxide. The coke and iron-ore in the right proportions are burnt together in a blast-furnace, in which the coke absorbs the oxygen from the ore to leave the iron. Crushed limestone is added too, and this melts to form a flux that cleans impurities like silica from the molten iron - the slag floats on the iron, and is tapped off separately to leave fairly pure iron.
.
So far, that's made iron with some carbon and other impurities. Steel is more complex as it is iron with a trace of carbon, in proportions very carefully controlled by further processing to give the finished metal the required characteristics. The processing may also add traces of other metals to give particular extra properties to suit particular engineering uses.
For every steel bar you want to make, you take 1 iron ore and 2 coal ores to a furnace, and use the iron ore on the furnace. Alternately, you can also use the magic spell "Superheat item" (without needing to go to a furnace).
You do not mine steel ore. Steel ore does not even exist! You may have thought that because of a steel bar. Well, to get a steel bar, you have to use one iron ore and two coal ores.
You have to mine iron ore and coal make a furnace and melt the iron ore to make iron ingot. Update: THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!!!!!!
this is a fairly easy question. make a steel bar ( smelt iron and 2 coal ) and use the steel bar on the furnace ( NOTE: remember to have an ammo mould ) and choose the amount of bars to make the cannon balls. each bar makes 4 cannon balls.
put in in a furnce with some coal to make a furnace make a cobblestone circle in the crafting bench

Steel
You need iron and coal to make a steel bar.
1 iron and 2 coal
iron and coal
Yes, they are melted together in a furnace to produce steel.
both iron and coal ore are used to make steel. steel is used to make products such as pipes tools and other products which can be sold around the world.
no because coal is not metal. you need metal to make metal or 2 different alloys of a metal such as iron. <><><> Coal is used in MAKING steel, but it is not MADE into steel.
Well you can make steel with two coal and one iron basically you can make a lot of high level metals coal.
you mine 2 coal and 1 iron together in a furnace and you get a steel bar
compared to what. Percentage of coal used to make iron/steel, or percentage of coal shipped overseas, or percentage of coal used to make electricity, or....
