there is no real "end", thanks to multiplayer mode that can be played by one person. At the end of SSE, just try to get 100% on each stage. After the subspace story go back to the forest and two other special levels. Go into the first door you find to start a movie. I the forest you will fight toon link to unlock him. In two other levels you have to fight wolf and jigglypuff.

You can unlock the characters in many ways the easiest way is to complete the subspace emissary mode 100%. Also if you play up to 400 brawls you can battle certain characters if you win you unlock them, also if you complete certain modes like boss battles you can fight other secret characters, if you beat classic mode on certain modes you can fight a certain character at the end, if you beat classic mode with certain characters you can fight another character at the end. The possiblities are out there go hunt down those characters!
