u will be able tyo meet ur rival at the final lake near snowpoint city considering rock climb can be used after obtaining the 7th badge
then go catch giratina atop spear pillar...
u'll need to head to hearthome/oreburgh entrance of mt. coronet and use rock climb which is only available after you beat the 7th gym. you will also need strength and rock smash, teach all these HMS to a bibarel.
after that challenge the 8th gym in sunnyshore a.s.a.p!!!
