In the game Sorry!, players take turns drawing cards to move their pawns around the board, with the goal of getting all four of their pawns from the start area to their home space. Players can move their pawns based on the card drawn, which may allow for moves of one to twelve spaces or even special actions like sliding into a home space or sending opponents back to start. If a player draws a Sorry! card, they can take one of their pawns from start and place it on a space occupied by an opponent, sending that pawn back to start. The first player to successfully move all their pawns into their home area wins the game.
Sorry! was first marketed in the US by Parker Brothers in 1934. Before that, it was popular in England. The Sorry! game that's popular in the US today is based closely on an Indian game called Pachisi (from which we also get Parcheesi).
You need to follow the rules of any game because if there are no rules there's no game. However you can change the rules if everyone agrees before the start of the game.
