1st - OBJECT GAMES, like holen, turumpo, siyato, tansan, lastiko (rubber band), teks (cards), and many others;
2nd - FIESTA GAMES, like palo sebo, pabitin, basag palayok, agawang baboy, agawang buko, ihip ng barya, etc.
3rd - HURDLE GAMES, like luksong tinik, luksong baka, luksng lubid, biyola kamatis, etc.
4th - PALAKASAN, like bunong braso, sumping, hilahang lubid, bunong bangko, etc.
5th - FOOT GAMES, like tumbang preso, sipang bilangan, sipang goma, chinese garter, etc.
6th - STREET GAMES, patintero, piko, kapitang bakod, taguan, etc.
7th - PABILISAN, tiyakad, kadang-kadang, karera ng sako, karera ng kalabaw
8th - INDOOR GAMES, sungka, chinese jackstone, and even Games of the Generals (which is a Filipino invention)
Amidst the modern age of high tech and computer gadgets, these games are still very much alive and played in the Philippines. The Filipino games are inexpensive to play, with less materials; and it promotes physical activity.
The traditional Filipino games promotes the Filipino spirit in a fun way. By and large, it is part of the Filipino culture. It is a cultural treasure that every Filipino should cherish, and continue to pass on the new generation, and to their children's children.
