What are the differences between Pokemon Gold and Silver and Pokemon heartgold and SoulSilver?

Well, the only difference between the two games is what Pokemon can you get there. You can catch Both Lugia and Ho-oh in either HeartGold and Soulsilver. Doesn't Matter.
In Pokemon HeartGold you can get:

Those are all true, but in soul silver, you find Lugia @ level 45, and Ho-oh @ level 70
In heart gold, you find Ho-oh @ level 45 and Lugia @ level 70.
And in soul silver, you find Groudon and Latios,
While in heart Gold you find Latias and Kyogre.
soul silver is better because it has stronger Pokemon. heartgold only have pathetic Pokemon. soulsilvers more popular. No the only difference is the Pokemon they can catch.

∙ 8y agoThe differences between Pokémon Gold and Silver and Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver are that you have Crystal elements in Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver such as Buena, Eusine and the ability to catch Suicune instead of searching for it as a roaming Pokémon additionally HeartGold and SoulSilver have a Safari Zone instead of Gold and Silver having it closed off, additional Legendary Pokémon such as Mewtwo, Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres can be found in HeartGold and SoulSilver, Red's are at a higher level with Pikachu at Level 88 instead of 81, Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise all being at Level 84 instead of 77, Snorlax being at Level 82 instead of 72 and instead of using a Level 73 Espeon like he did in Gold and Silver he uses a Level 80 Lapras, it remains in the Hail weather effect as long as you exploring Mt. Silver in HeartGold and SoulSilver and you can also have rematches with any of the 16 Gym Leaders.

Why is SoulSilver more expensive than heart gold?
There both the same, just some Pokemon appear more in Soulsilver than in Heartgold, same with Heartgold to Soulsilver. Also, Lugia, in Soulsilver, is level 45 when you find it, but in Heartgold you find him level 70, in Soulsilver Ho-oh is 70, but in Heartgold, he is 45. There is VERY little difference's between the two games. Also, not to be mean, but you spelled silver in Soulsilver wrong.

Pokemon soul silver is better then Pokemon heart gold - Well I can't say, because I've only played soulsilver. Soulsilver is AWESOME. Just so you know :D But I have a lot of Pokemon-obsessed friends who've played both, and most of them say soulsilver is better. But they're basically the same game (with a slightly different plot), except in Soulsilver, the main legendary Pokemon is Lugia, and in Heartgold it's Ho-oh. So, which do you like better, Lugia or Ho-oh? Or if you can find a large price difference I'd buy the cheaper one, but I think they cost about the same. Anyways I would go with soulsilver, but they're basically the same so it really doesn't matter. PS: you can get it with or without the pokewalker- I would definitely get it with the pokewalker
