There are these ways:
Drowning = Put your sim in a pool, and go to the building area of the game. Select the 'Wall Tool' and put a wall around the pool, remember they can get out without a ladder!
Fire = Create a bunch of chairs, beds, couches, etc. and surrond the sim in it. Before you place the chairs though, make your sim put food on or in the stove and leave it. Then watch it catch on fire, remember don't have access to the room!
Old Age = Your sim will have to pass on eventually, which is the most easiest way to go, and the happiest. You can stop all aging by going to 'Options' and unclicking 'Enable Aging'.
Electrocution = Get a unskilled sim in the handiness skill, and place her on a TV. You can get electrocuted by having a low level while trying to upgrade or repair a tv. You can also make the sim urine on the floor next to the sim and create a puddle, then upgrade or repair.
Starvation = Having no fridge, or anything that has food is a serious problem. So if you don't have access to any food source your sim will eventually starve, which is the easiest way to kill your sims.
Meteor = Note: This death requires The Sims 3 Ambitions expansion pack.

Firstly, you can have a sim use the Natural Science career reward which is a cow plant (University EP only), which you can feed, and eventually a cake will appear on its tongue.
