I think they are flowers you can get at the graveyard and if your sim has it when it dies it can give it to the grim reaper and come back to life.

Is there a cheat to save a sim from death?
In the sims three (if you have that game) you can turn on the cheat code buydebug in buy mode. Then a whole screen of exclusive world adventures items is unlocked. From there, click on the plant icon. There you can get all sorts of special plants including the death flower bush. Once you buy this bush your sim can harvest the death flowers. These flowers are very special and can save your sims life at the time of death if the flowers are in your inventory.
