Natures (not JUST in Pokemon Diamond) give your Pokemon one stat boost, as well as one stat hinderance. For example, Adamant increases attack and reduces special attack. Some natures don't have ANY effect. If you need a chart for natures, I have one made here:

Natures increase one stat of a Pokemon while decreasing another stat. For example, a Pokemon with an Adamant nature has a higher attack stat, but a lower special attack stat. In addition, it also determines what flavors of Berry, Pokeblock, Poffin, or Apricorn (depending on the game) that a Pokemon likes and dislikes. In the case of having an Adamant nature, a Pokemon would like a Spicy flavor and dislike a Dry flavor.
There are 25 natures available, most raising one stat by 10% and decreasing another by 10%. However, there are five natures that are neutral, and don't improve or hinder any stats. Psypokes.com has a good table displaying all natures, their effects, and likes/dislikes. It can be found here: http://www.psypokes.com/lab/natures.php
It is a illness your Pokemon can rarely get. It starts by Catching a wild Pokemon with it. It helps your Pokemon level up faster. It also slightly lowers the stat gain.

As far as I know, no code like that exists. But I will keep looking for it.
The most common answer is that that it take 4 EV points for a Pokemon below level 50 to get a plus one point to a stat. This is based on a neutral nature, different natures can skew the number a little bit.
I'd say probably Naughty or Adamant. Another way you can tell things like this is go to the pokemon's page and the Nature page of Bulbapedia. Check which stats are high and which are low, and choose a few natures that increase a low stat and decrease a high stat.
