What are Koroks in Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild?

Koroks are back in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. People familiar with the series will already know about Koroks, but those new to the game might be interested to know that Koroks are forest spirits originally encountered by Link in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.

Koroks were once human-shaped (about the size of children) Kokiri, but when Hyrule changed, they changed as well. Now they have a more plant-like appearance. They are childlike and optimistic, and often afraid of strangers. They can be found hiding throughout the game world.
