Yes it does the only difference is that Monster Hunter 2nd G is in Japanese and maybe other asain languages like Chinese, and Freedom Unite is in English but the 2 games are the same, there are slight differences like the layout of it at the main menu but overall the whole gameplay is the same. In advance to the old monster hunter there is the G class missions you can undertake in the gathering hall but not from the village.
