Sattelites are things which orbit (go around) planets, moons, stars or other objects in space. The earth is a sattelite of the sun, the sun is a sattelite of the supermassive black hole in the center of our galaxy, and our galaxy is either a sattelite galaxy of another or has smaller sattelite galaxies, I can never remember which. Then there are artificial (manmade) sattelites which are machines put in orbit by people to perform various tasks, be it to observe the cosmos more clearly without having the distortion of the atmosphere, send communications around the globe or spy on people, lol.
Planets orbit at least something. If they don't, they will collide with something else which will cause a big explosion. Planets such as Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune, all orbit the sun.
Advantages: without the sun, all life on earth would die Disadvantages: The sun is hot (jk, there are no disads)
the world. As the world is round it is not on top of the sky...the world is a planet just like the sun etc, so there is atmosphere around us all. Nothing can sit on top of the sky

Ellipse.
Earth's orbit around the sun is fairly typical compared to other planets in our solar system. It follows an elliptical path, with the sun at one of the foci. The shape and orientation of Earth's orbit contribute to the changing seasons and variations in solar intensity.
The earths orbit around the sun is almost circular.
Orbit
The Earth's journey around the sun is called its orbit.
Yes.
The actual shape of the earth's orbit around the sun is horrendously complicated. Partly because the earth does not orbit the sun and also because the orbit is influenced by the the gravitational attraction of the other planets. The earth does not orbit the sun: the centre of mass of the earth-sun system is at one of the foci of an ellipse whose eccentricity is 0.0167. The eccentricity varies from 0.0034 to 0.058.
The earths orbit around the sun is almost circular.
Orbit
No. The moon's orbit around the earth is.
no
A revolution: The Earth revolves in an elliptical (oval) orbit around the Sun. This orbit is planetary; the Sun is a star, and a large object that orbits a star is known as a planet.
