i think a destiny weapon is better than doom weapon because there are 80 percent more dark creatures than light creatures, but a crucial information you must take in is it is highly recommended you finish all the quests in the sandsea. there is 1 major boss that it's nature is light you should finish.
(the destiny weapon will also have that 'engulfed in doom' thing but will say 'engulfed with destiny' with a bright light. it's exactly the same as a doom weapon with the same bonuses and stats).
