Pokemon diamond and pearl have many rare pokemon. Most well know is Dialga and Palkia. One that is really rare is Munchlax. You have to apply honey to a honey tree and wait for 12 hours. It is worthwhile if you manage to find one, because Snorlax has a high HP and a High attack stat. Don't forget a good amount of ultra balls as it could get rough.
