No. ATI Radeon 9800 (and Pro, SE) only have shader model 2.0 i have tried with dell to see if there is downloads or upgrades and with no success . they suggested the ati site and everything i tried casue a error . i was trying to play C O D modern warfare 2.
I just checked my graphics card (i have the same 1) and yes, pixel shader 2.0 is supported. For some reason though, I have a game that I'm trying to play that says "failed to compile and create pixel shader" and I'm not sure how to troubleshoot it...

Default Pixel Shader for ATI Radeon 9550 is 2.0 and is not an instalable feauture...but if you can find a way to add it, let me know...
Hi! I've got an ATI AH3450 HD, and it supports pixel shader 4.1.... But sorry, the ATI Radeon 9650 isn't supports it. (pix sha 3)
Radeon 9000 supports pixel shader 1.4 and lower. So you should be fine.
