In Gears of War and Gears of War 2 the host is normally the player with the best connection, and all the other players are synchronized with that connection, because the host has the main connection they are lag free thus making them be able to almost be 10 seconds ahead of the competition. Some go to the length that the host can dealt more damage then the average player and has more health.

gears of war 2!!!!!!!Their both great. if u can get both!they're both great but mostly 2 because u have more moves and better blood Id say Gears of war 1 because the multiplayer is much more addicting then other shooters, Gears of war 2 does have good multiplayer but the matchmaking is very clunky, due to bad host advantage, also Gears 2 has a expandable campagin then Gears 1, also Gears 2 has horde mode.But there both checking out.......
