The most trouble people have when they do the first mystery, is they don't know anything. Also, the muddy footprints, get Stirling, a boy in the house (second level, room on the right when you come down from the attic) and you will then find the boot prints and animal print. In the house, one pair of boots is near the door (dad's boots) and then there is two pairs in the kitchen (unknown and Aunt Millie), and if you go near the beagle dog, Grace, her feet match the animal print. Then, ask Sitrling for extra clues, and then you will find out the answer.
