I am not sure of any cheats that will allow you to get a unicorn to appear in your front yard. But, it is easy to find unicorns in herds of wild horses in the wild. Mainly near trees or hilly areas. If you go to the map view, a trick is to look for tiny grey dots on the screen, this means there is an animal there if you zoom in. And if you are lucky, it may be a unicorn. Im assuming that you have to be a level 8 horse rider to adopt a unicorn. It takes time for the unicorn to warm up to your Sim, so be patient, and you will eventually be able to adopt it once you achieve a friendship with the animal.
