Jumaytepeque is a small basaltic stratovolcano located in Guatemala in the Northeastern city of Cuilapa. This volcano is located north of the major northwest/south east Jalpatagua fault that cuts diagonally across Guatemala. It is 1,815 meters high (5,995 feet) and was created near the border of the large Miocene Santa Rosa de Lima caldera. The Jumaytepeque volcano is 23,000 years old, and its past erosion suggests that Holocene activity is possible.
