Did Elise Love Sonic?
It is highly implied that Elise did indeed love Sonic throughout the storyline of Sonic the Hedgehog. Shown through Sonic's Trial of Love, a cutscene where Amy confronts Elise about her liking someone, and most controversially, a scene which Elise revives Sonic through the use of a kiss, telling Sonic to come back to "us".

Princess Elise the third is the sovereign of Soleanna, she was kidnapped by Eggman in Sonic 06 for she had the Flames of Disaster sealed within her which would be released if she ever cried. She is hated by many fans as she kissed Sonic to revive him at the end of Sonic 06. Thankfully since Sonic reversed the events this never happened.

Did Mephiles kill Sonic in Sonic 06 for the Xbox 360?
Mephiles did kill Sonic but Sonic was later resurrected with the power of the Chaos Emeralds and a kiss from Elise. He killed sonic by coming out of the ground and and blasting him with the power of the purple choas emerald (sneak attack).
