you have to get to Yoshi egg Galaxy or something and then after you defeat kemik there is a shield around the Yoshi egg and it will open and jump and or spin at it and Yoshi pops out!!!!!!!!!! so that's how to get him after that he'll show up in certain stages including Mario's Face-Ship!!

Mario + 1 up = luigi Mario + dino = Yoshi
There is the dash pepper level up which lets Yoshi run super fast, run up certain walls, and run on water. The Blimp Fruit makes Yoshi float higher and higher for a bit. Last is the Bulb Berry which makes Yoshi turn yellow and make platforms appear but make sure you got off the platform before the power-up wears out or you'll fall just like there was never even a platform

Let go of the "R" button on your DS, and Yoshi will stand up.
