No Sonic the Hedgehog is not gay but people often tend to call him gay

for multiple reasons:

In the video game series Sonic refuses to date the character Amy Rose which

is strange

BUT

in the archie comics which is a completely different storyline form the main game series he clearly has a romantic relationship with

Sally Acorn and even marries her in the comic series

Sonic Universe

So the way it looks now we can safely say he isn't but you never know
