If Yami wins, Johnny will promise never to bother Téa again, but if Johnny wins, Téa will have to go out with him. In episode 54 called Obelisk the Tormentor (This Town becomes Battle City) is when Tea and Yami/Yugi go to the museum and learn more about him,(Mai Valentine comes running up to greet them, grabbing Téa around the neck and telling her she's looking snazzy.
(In the Japanese, she asks Tea if she's on a date with Yugi, and Tea protests that it's nothing like that. They've cut out a bit of Mai cheerfully strangling Tea, including a shot of Tea's face turning blue.)
