Sims can only have pets in Sims 3 if toy buy the Sims 3 "Pets" expansion. If you are talking about Sims 3 alone, the only pet a Sim can have in Sims 3 standalone is a fish.
If you do not own the Sims 3: Pets expansion pack, you may only buy a fish bowl and place a caught fish there. With the expansion, you may have horses, dogs, cats, birds, lizards, and more fish in your household.
Yes, you can have a fish and in Octobe you can have dogs cats and horses because EA is releasing sims 3 pets as an expansion
You cant in the normal sims 3, but you can buy a fish bowl and either click on it and buy a goldfish, or you can catch a fish from a pond and put it in. Fish need to be feeded regularly to live. If you don't do that then you have to buy an expansion pack.
If you buy a fish bowl you can put a fish you have caught from ur inventory into it as a pet.
An Angel Fish. (Probably)
