In the anime, he started out as 17 years old, 3 years before the 22nd World Tournanment. When the 22nd Tournaent starts, he is 20 years old. In the 23rd Tournament, he is 23 years old. In Dragonball Z (5 years later), he is 28 years old. Training for 1 year before the saiyans arrive, he is 29. When Goku returns to earth after his fight with Frieza, Tien is 31, Training for three years before the androids arrive, Tien turns 34. Seven years after the fight with Cell, he is now 41. In the end of Dragonball Z, Tien is 51.
