How many times has Ash Ketchum died?

um, i don't really know what you're talking about, but, i don't think Ash died in any episode or movie. maybe he was close to dying. but, if Ash Ketchum did die, then they would have stopped the Pokemon anime or create another character to become a pokemon master.

actually Ash has technically died, twice.

the first time was in episode 26 i believe when a chandelier fell on him he played with some ghost Pokemon as a ghost but later returned to his body

the second time was in the first movie when he got caught in mew and mewtwo's attacks, later revived do to Pokemon tears

and it's being debated if he died in the eighth movie when some anti-bodies swallowed him, Brock, may, and max

he has almost died plenty of times like in the victini movies where he almost froze to death on the sword of the veil. And in jirachi: wish maker when the mass of pure evil took the shape of a groudon and succeeded in absorbing May and Brock.
