The game contains 100 tiles: 98 are each marked with a letter and the point value of that letter and there are 2 blank tiles that can be used as any letter. There are 100 letter tiles.
The number of tiles given to each of the players before the start of the scrabble game is seven (7). The number of tiles to be laid first on the board depends on the first player's letter tiles to which who will lay the first word.
The game ends when all the letter tiles of a player (the first to finish) are exhausted/used/played on the scrabble board.
