it depends on how old your child is
child-stays in there until they are a young adult i think if remeber ( i have the game but my computer that has it shut down and charger broke so i dont know but thats what i think)
teen- young adult
toddlers and newborns-youngadults,adults,and elders cant go so thats it hope it helped ;-)

If you have The Sims 3 Generations Expansion Pack downloaded in your laptop/computer It Will be there, but if you don't have Sims 3 Generations already then you would not get any generations stuff.
