How do you perfectly win in musical chairs?

To perfectly win at musical chairs, you need a combination of observation and strategy. Pay attention to the music and the movements of other players, positioning yourself near a chair as the music slows. When the music stops, quickly secure a seat, ideally one that is less contested. Staying alert and anticipating others' actions will give you a competitive edge in securing your spot.

Is musical chairs a zero sum game?

Yes, musical chairs is a zero-sum game because the total number of players remains constant while the number of available chairs decreases, resulting in a situation where one player's gain (finding a chair) directly corresponds to another player's loss (not finding a chair). In this context, the game's outcome is competitive, as one player's success inherently means another's failure. The total "value" in the game—represented by chairs—remains unchanged, illustrating the zero-sum nature.
