I really don't think this is the best way as it will take about 2-3 times as long as if you don't. ---> Best way is to equip exp share to said Pokemon. Put it in first slot, battle, switch to your best Pokemon and when the opponent is killed, your Pokemon gets about 3/4 of the experience points.

[Other answer]: In the newer versions of Pokemon (Pokemon Leaf green/Diamond/Pearl), when you catch the Pokemon Chansey, chances are it might be holding a Lucky Egg. If you happen to stumble upon one of these nifty trinkets, your experience points will double and training a Pokemon like Dragonite to 100 will be as simple as training a baby Pokemon to lvl 50. Check your National Dex to find out where to catch Chanseys. In the GBA versions, Chansey is located in the Safari Zone. In Diamond and Pearl, Chansey is in Routes 209-210 and South Trophy Garden (where you catch pikachus).

The way I got my Charizard to level 100 was by fighting the Elite Four again and again. This way is really good because my other Pokemon level up as well.

[Other answer]: If you are trying to train up a water Pokemon in Pokemon D/P then your best to trade with a friend and then trade back (to gain boosted exp) then make it hold an exp share and train it in 'Victory Road.' To train grass types I recommend west of Sunny Shore City because of the amount of water ground types (Forgot the name but evolved form of Shelos) in that area... for fire I would obviously train in the grass outside Snow Point City... *remember to trade and trade back for all your Pokemon!* um, for flying I recommend trading for a level 100 because there are no good places to train unless you have a lot of patience and is willing to be BORED OUT OF YOUR MIND! yeah, for fighting types i recommend 'Victory Road' again because of all the rock types... If you are training Empoleon BEWARE OF FIGHTING TYPES LIKE MACHOKE AND MEDICHAM!!......... ^_^ hope this helped! Or if you are not bothered about losing to the elite four a couple of times, keep coming at 'em with Pokemon (obviously getting more and more powerful from all the kick bum elite four training) to get stronger <:D <:D <:D <:D PARTAY! nope this helped, again...

GO MIGHTY HERACROSS!

My team for the elite four was,

Emoleon level 70,

Gengar level 65,

Infernape level 50,

HERACROSS!! level 50 (got bored of training)

Groundon level 50 (traded with friend) :D HAha I PWND THEM! <:D
