If you throw seeds at it, it will swoop down and eat them. Once it has ate the seeds, it will no longer run away from you and you can right click it to place it on your head.

Well, there are a few animals you can tame in the Mo Creatures Mod: Cat: Feed it a cooked fish and put a medallion on it. Horse: Feed it an apple and put a saddle on it. Zebra: Make a cookie using coacoa beans and feed it to it. Husky: Feed it a bone.
