Massive EDIT:
There are a set of screws behind the psp, underneath a sticker in the battery compartment which can be removed to access the internals of the psp.
A hammer is not required, and apparently only people with an IQ below 12 would use that approach... All you need is a small Phillips head screwdriver, and an exacto knife to lift the warranty sticker. I suggest you use latex gloves so you don't leave smudges and finger prints on the LCD screen.
original edit:
I would not recommend trying this but:
1. Take a hammer 2. Break the screen 3. Remove the pieces leftover
Oh and this WILL ruin your PSP console (that was also not sarcastic, you have to break the screen to get it off)
No, the 3000's screen is not compatible with a PSP-2000.
None of the PSP models have a touch screen, only the PSVita.
The screen resolution on the PSP 2000 is 480x272.

Hacking the PSP only changes the firmware. You can freely replace the screen, with a screen from the same model of PSP.
1 Unscrew the PSP 2 Then look where the PSP is cracked 3 Try fiddling with to change the lighting in the PSP 4 Then cut on/off sometimes it works
no the psp go does not have a touch screen
Sony PSP LCD Screen Protector is the best screen protector.

You can purchase a PSP screen online and then replace it.

it depends the psp go is faster by a Little but there both the same its just the psp go is a newer model i recommend the psp no go if you have money to spend to psp go also the psp go if falls a lot when playing the screen comes off
The Pelican PSP Screen Protector is a good one.
u know ur psp is bricked when: you turn it on the screen stays blank and after 10 seconds or so, it shuts itself off
Go to PSP home then PSP settings then go to PSP customization, next go to PSP Home Screen. Then follow the on screen instructions. It is pretty easy and straight forward.
the psp is thicker than the psp 3000 and there is other little things like the psp 3000 has a newer screen to keep the reflection off it and the psp has a built in microphone. you can use the original psp as a controller to practically anything. the umd case on the 3000 doesn't have a latch the wlan switch is moved the memory card slot is moved a little. the speakers on the original psp are on the bottom and on the psp 3000 there next to the screen. the psp logo on the back and on the front are different, and the big one for me is the fact you can hook the psp 3000 into the TV.
