Just remember the same number can only appear once per vertical and horizontal row. A number on the lower row of a box must always be on the upper row of the adjacent (sideways) box. Numbers in a box cannot share the same position in the boxes above or below them.

Consider the top left box of 6 squares. assign a,b,c to the squares in the top row and d,e,f to the bottom row. A number in position a of box 1 can only appear in positions b, c, e or f of the boxes below and only in positions d, e or f of the top right hand box. However, it could occupy the same position in the right hand middle or lower box. So it is throughout.
