The key is extending the lines past the grid.Three lines: 7 through 4 and 1 at an angle. Extend the line until you can come down through 2, 5, and 8. Extend the line again until you can upswing through 9, 6 and 3. It will look like the letter N. As long as the dots are not points, this works.
