Go to your Moshi Monster room and click on your Friends Tree. Click on the user name of the friend you want to send a message to and it will go to their room. You should see their Pin Board in the top left corner of the room. Click on their Pin Board. Click on 'Add message' at the top of the Pin Board. You will see a note and you click on the note and type your message. You can also choose colors and different pictures to add to your note. Then click 'Post' at the bottom of the note and it will say your message has been sent.
Note: You have to be friends with someone before you can send them a message.
