You use the arrow keys to move the block into the hole, moving across the grid by turning it onto a side or end. The controls are the directional keys to go Up, Down, Left, or Right. If you fall off the side, you have to restart the level. The ideal is to reach the hole in the fewest number of moves for the level.

There are 4 special types of squares:

-- An octagon button will add or remove squares somewhere around the grid. It may remove them permanently (cannot touch the button) or temporarily (hit it an odd or even number of times). The added squares may be bridges between sections.

-- An X button is only triggered when the Block lands fully on the button (i.e. on one end).

-- An open circle button will split the Block into two smaller squares,. When the Block is split, the spacebar lets you control each one separately to move them around the grid. If the two small squares meet, they immediately rejoin into the Block. Only the whole Block can go through the exit.

-- Orange squares will not support the full weight of the Block: you can never land on an orange square with the Block on end; it has to be lying flat on a side.
