First of all, it's a portal. Well, use obsidian and make a vertical rectangle. The get your flint and stone thing and right click on the rectangle.
Once you get into the portal, wait a few seconds and then you're transported into the Nether (not the Netherlands). Once you get there and start exploring, don't loose your portal!!! If you do, you will not be able to go back to the "minecraft World".
