The squares that you click on should have either numbers or mines in them. The ones with numbers will tell you how many mines are exactly next to that square, in all directions including diagonals. You'll have to guess where the mines are by using numbers from multiple squares to identify where a mine lies.
For example, if you've clicked open this position in a corner:
1|1|_|
1|_|_|
_|_|_|
The middle square definitely has a mine in it, as all those three 1s position a mine there.
1|1|x|
1|X|x|
x|x|_|
The x's represent where a mine could be, and the X represents where the number's guesswork coincides.
Go to game in the top left corner and go to custom. Then do height:24. Next do width:30. And finally do mines:10.then keep trying and eventually you will beat minesweeper in 1 second
The numbers in Minesweeper indicate how many mines are next to that square. (vertically, horizontally, and diagonally.) For example, if there is a 4 in a square, 4 bombs are adjacent to that tile.

Every game of minesweeper is winnable, thus it is a game of skill. Luck has nothing to do with it, as Minesweeper is a puzzle game. Skill at figuring out where the mines lie, and quickness will lead to fast times.

The number represents the number of mines the block is touching. This includes vertically, horizontally and diagonally.
The same thing it does in any other war: find and destroy naval mines so they won't find and destroy warships. The enemy really doesn't like you doing this, so minesweeper crews get attacked frequently.
a minesweeper is not a real thing minesweeper is an online game
Minesweeper - Windows - was created in 1990.
Minesweeper Suite was created in 2002.
Minesweeper was created by Robert Donner and Curt Johnson.
In the NAVY it moves ahead of the fleet and searches for underwater mines. The Army had a truck with a rolling device that beat the ground with chains as it moved ahead of the unit. The chains beat the ground and set off land mines in the road.
