Yes, you can heal in SONICvsLF2.

While in stage mode, or battle mode, and you need to heal, you need to hold your defense key, then your jump key, and the button you use to move down

Ex: My defense key is the S key, my jump key is my space bar, and I use the arrow keys, so the down arrow key.

My operation would look like this: S+Space Bar+ Down Arrow Key
