1. First you have to make sure there are working batteries in it.
2. Then, locate a small round button with a wifi looking symbol next to it on the top of the controller above the Xbox symbol. Once you have located it, press it to see if a green spinning ring spins around it. If it does, you're ready for the next step. If not, your controller is not functioning or you have the wrong button and should try again.
3. Find a black button towards the edge of the console where your USB devices plug in. It should have that wifi symbol too. Press the button. Again, there should be a spinning green symbol around the Xbox logo on your console.
4. When you have found both buttons, press them both as close as possible to the same time. When both controller and console are spinning green, give them about 10-15 seconds to connect. The green will stop spinning and flash three or four times to signify it's connected
5. Once you see that one of the four green segments that are the same in both your Xbox console and Xbox controller logo, you are ready to play. Test out the new controller by pressing a few buttons and enjoy!
