Write these down before you start so you will already be set up when you start.

$26.95 US. It's a one time purchase and nomonthly fee to keep playing.

An e-mail and password to create an account to buy the game (or download the game if you bought the disk) and a "user name" and I think another password to log into the game after you buy it.

I believe you can still use a credit card or a PayPal account to buy the game online. Some of the big box stores like Walmart, Target, etc, do carry a CD that you can buy but it's only an installer and you will still need to down load the full game from the internet after you set up an account.

Your e-mail will always be associated with your Minecraft game/account so you want a permanant one. Anytime you need to contact Mojang for trouble shooting, lost log in information, or contact info you will need the e-mail connected to your account.

Go to Minecrafts main page minecraft.net and click on the big orange button that says "Get Minecraft!!" and it will take you to the sign in page to start your account setup.

If you buy it online then Mojang will send a confirmation e-mail after your done to make sure it's a working e-mail, when you click on the confirmation then they will enable it to work.
