Just play through the game to the rustboro city. when there you must beat gym. after you beat gym leader you have to do the team aqua/team magma run through of the rusterf tunnel . i call it whismer cave as that is the only Pokemon possible to find in there.but after that a man comes to thank you and brings you to the Devon corperation. there you will get a pokegear. if you don't get it then go to give steven letter at the next city.but with the pokegear you can check trainers you met,see the map, and check Pokemon conditions.
