Actually, you can. First, you can stock up on mount upgrade tokens (muts) and wait until level 30.

At level 15 or so, you get a nice little baby turtle. If you have at least 5 muts, you may try to upgrade it into a panther. This is the easiest to get of all the upgraded mounts; it usually takes no more than 3 or 2 tries.

If you don't have any muts on you, don't worry. Mut prices vary from server to server, and if you're lucky, it won't be that expensive (1s-around 10). If you sell enough of the unusable junk in your inventory you can get around 5s muts if your server has them.

At level 30 or so, you will get a Rabid Raccoon mount. It is faster and slightly better than the turtle, but it lacks some of the panther's bonuses. Now, if you have a panther, combine them and voila. A scorpion.

If you don't have any muts or you had some and got a panther, don't worry. This guide will still be here when you get back.

Getting a scorpion is a bit harder. I have talked to many people and it took about 5-6 tries for a scorpion. Some people were significantly luckier, which only took 2 or 3 tries.

You might have spent most of your gold or silver on muts at this point. Don't worry, if you can't afford it, you can try and solo indigo. If you have enough patience to create another account and get to level 30 with a priest (unless you are a priest, if that happens, try a tank or a dps), you may survive. Using a health orb may help; rush from starting point on your mount to the boss. Make sure you have enough potions for this.

Each try for the scorpion takes 12 muts. You may buy muts from Private Shops located near the Starglade Vault (not the dungeon). You may also post an ad saying 'B> cheap muts' in trade chat.
