There are a few ways of getting one
Way #1 (for people which do not have Action Replay DS)
it is quite difficult but you have to fish with a super rod (you can get one in survival area) you keep using that all the time and hopefully a red gyarados will appear, shiny Pokemon are rare so keep trying and you will find one.
Way #2 (Action Replay Owners)
It is a whole lot easier than Way #1, all you do is tick the Wild Pokemon are Shiny box, then fish using the Super Rod and it will appear red.
Way #3 (Anyone)
If you have a yellow magikarp (pre-evolved form of a red gyarados) Level it up to 20 and it would evolve into a red gyarados.
Way #4 (Anyone)
If your friends have a yellow magikarp or a red gyarados, you could trade with your friend/s.
Way #5 (People who have both national pokedex and Gen I, II or III game)
go to Pal Park (Near Route 221) and migrate a Pokemon from a previous Pokemon game, then catch it using a Park Ball.
Yes, the "Red Gyarados" is actually just a shiny Gyarados.
technically, yes. There is an 8462 to one chance of finding a shiny pokemon. If you found a shiny gyarados, it WOULD be red. You could also evolve a shiny magicarp(which, by the way, is gold). No, there is no guarantee on this, and there is no guaranteed chance of finding a red gyarados.
well theres a very low percent that you can find one but in Pokemon heartgold/soul silver theres one in a lake
The red Gyarados is simply a shiny Gyarados. This means the red Gyarados is not any stronger or weaker than other Gyarados. Gyarados in general is considered to be a very powerful Pokemon for how easy it is to get.
first you must have uxie, mesprit, and azelf in your partysecond you do to the lake near twinleaf townthird surf to the center of the lakeyou must have a super rodfish a couple of times there! fish until you get The RED GYARADOS

You can catch red Gyarados anywhere because red Gyarados are only shiny but are extremely rare.
the only way to get a red gyarados is to find one already shiny in the wild. you dont get it from someone in the game either.
you don't get one.but you can in Pokemon gold, silver, heart gold, and soul silver.

you can not get a red gyarados i think that when a garyados is shiny i think it is red it is shiny, but most people just call it red garaydos. does anyone want to trade for it?
same chance to catch a shiny gyarados to catch eny shiny in platinum.
Nothing really, its just pretty rare especially to other games like platinum, diamond and pearl. Its just a shiny gyarados
there is no red gyarados. its just a shiny Pokemon and its red. not a huge thing
To get a red Gyarados in Pokemon LeafGreen you first need to catch a shiny Magikarp. This shiny Magikarp will be able to evolve into a red Gyarados. This is due to the red Gyarados simply being the shiny color of Gyarados.
Red Gyarados has no advantages over regular Gyarados. Red Gyarados is a shiny Pokemon, which has a different appearance but has identical stats to regular Gyarados.
Magikarp's evolution is Gyarados.
