No, there is not any good servers for Minecraft 1.6.6. In fact, there are no more 1.6.6 servers at all. There are only updated servers. My recamendation is for you to update minecraft. All of the servers, or the most active, always update.
Typically, Minecraft usually uses 300MB + RAM - Usually about 600MB, but it is automatically allocated up to 900MB RAM (if your computer can handle that). Basically, the more RAM you have, the better Minecraft will run.
Depends on how much RAM you have if you have a good amount 6 gigabytes or more is pretty good for minecraft than you can search how to dedicate ram to minecraft. Or just watch this video...
If you go onto the site "PlanetMinecraft" then hit "Servers" on the horizontal menu. Then click on "servers" then "Top List!" you can see the top servers on the biggest Minecraft site.
Yes. There are minecraft servers that have skyblock with nether enabled that are cracked.

Working for what? Server's or your comp? If its a server, it way be unstable, so switch to 1.6.4 on unstable servers. If its on you computer, check if your using wrong mods. Always have enough RAM memory for Minecraft. If I didn't answer your question please be a little more specific
A slow/low end broadband speed is usually the #1 problem for lag on servers. The other is too little ram on the computer on single player, 4 gigs should be the minimum you should have. If you go to the minecraft WiKi they can tell you how to add more ram to the Minecraft application if you have plenty on the computer. Things that you can do to reduce the lag is to turn down some of the visual options in the menu.

no you need minecraft beta to play beta servers
Yes, most Minecraft servers are safe. If you stay with the more popular ones, you'll be fine.
Depends on what you mean by "hacked." There are some servers that don't have good protection from hacks, and so hackers useing cheats come on. If you mean hacked as in to compromise the server itself, then that depends as well. The more the population of miencraft rises, the more servers will be hacked. Minecraft servers are hacked just as often as any other PC game with dedicated servers, such as Team-Fortress 2 and Counter-Strike: Source. It's just something that comes with the people. The more people that play minecraft, the more server there will be, and the more hackers there will be.
