well... the only way to get adventure quest coins for free is by watching the advertisements given to you by ballyhoo,very rarely you will get 5 adventure coins.
also if your friend is about to upgrade to members and he has you on his reffered friends,you will get 200 adventure coins when he upgrades
other than that there is no way to get free adventure coins
except from battleon points but i wouldn't call it "free"

Adventure Quest uses Z-tokens. Adventure Quest Worlds uses Adventure Coins (AC) which can be obtained either by: watching the videos from Ballyhoo, earn the free premium currency through their surveys, or get lucky in AQ. AQW doesn't give in-game AC for free other than Ballyhoo I think.

Adventure Quest and Adventure Quest Worlds are different in so many ways. AQ is an RPG, AQW is an MMORPG. AQ requires skill, AQW requires money (sadly true). AQW is mainly for people who arent good at other games so they just play AQW. And since there's pretty much no skill involved in AQW, its pretty much just a dress up game. So if you're 6-9 I reccomend AQW. if youre 10-14 I reccomend AQ.
